Ihave loved to paint since I was very small. It began with the encouragement of a wonderful teacher in Year 5 who started my interest in painting, drawing and in Art History, and then with the good fortune to have the wonderful BETTY CHURCHER  [ former Director, Australian Art Gallery, Canberra] as my Art teacher in High School, I continued to pursue it through the rest of my schooling.

All through the years of children and family life on a busy broad acre farm in Rural Queensland, I endeavoured to keep painting and entering the local Art competitions. Recently I have had much more time to put into my art with very positive results at Exhibitions and many major awards at Art Shows in the district around the Darling Downs regions of Pittsworth and Toowoomba.

With my art knowledge I have been able to teach others and I take Adult classes every week and get great pleasure in seeing these lovely people grow and achieve as artists.

I became a Watercolour artist because it was a medium I could go to with great ease, as being a farmer’s wife and mother of three, my time was so short. With the other mediums, I had wasted pallets of oil and acrylic paint drying before I could get back my painting. Watercolour gave me freedom to come and go as time allowed. Now I have the time to paint with any medium I choose. I can create flowing, loose paintings of my beautiful garden, exact representations of beautiful flowers, tree or animals, and large abstracts of the magnificent surroundings of the wide open plains with all the colours of the land, the crops and the huge skies. These are the elements that I paint, whether in Still Life, Landscapes or Abstracts, whether in Oil, Acrylic, Watercolour, or more.

Thankfully, I now have the freedom to explore them all.

I hope you enjoy my work.
