HOPE 2019 50×60

Acrylic on Canvas

The years of living on the black soil plains with that huge sky has affected every aspect of my Art and I turn to it so often to capture a feeling or a mood. The ongoing drought haunts us all but we have to be hopeful. This painting took a while to reveal itself and just didn’t “sing” until I applied that blue. Maybe the thought of water and rain, flowing streams and lapping oceans forced their way into my psyche and this was the result; gentleness, softness and hope.
